Need Help with an Unexpected Pregnancy or
Are You Having Difficulty Parenting?
Finding yourself with an unexpected pregnancy can be difficult, as you are faced with a lot of difficult decisions. At Adoption By Choice we have staff who have years of experience working with adoptions and we would be happy to talk to you about your options. We have been helping birth parents of all ages for more than 20 years who are facing an unexpected pregnancy and we can help you and your family through this difficult time. Adoption is by no means limited to newborn children. Sometimes a parent may consider building an adoption plan for an infant or young child. Sometimes the child has been with another caregiver or in fostercare when an adoption plan is considered. Our goal is to help you make the plan that works for you and your child. At ABC, we are here to listen, provide support and give you information as you decide what to do.
How Does Adoption Work?
If you decide adoption is the right choice for you and your child, ABC will help you build an adoption plan.
- You choose the adoptive family from carefully screened applicants.
- You can meet the family and make arrangements for ongoing contact after the child is placed which may be in the form of emails, pictures, phone calls or visits.
- A legal consent will be signed before your child is placed with the adoptive family.
- Every adoption plan is unique and ongoing contact will depend on what works for you and the adoptive family.
We know that adoption for your child is likely the most difficult decision that you may ever make and we are here to help you consider this big decision. We also offer support and counselling for your family, and there are no fees charged for services for birth parents or their families.
If you would like to talk to someone about considering a adoption plan, please give us a call at 1-800-570-2835 or email us at Calgary@adoptionbychoice.ca or Edmonton@adoptionbychoice.ca and we will connect with you as soon as possible.
