Carol H. Lamb, M.S.W., R.S.W. Carol Lamb is the founder of Adoption By Choice which was licensed as an Open Adoption Agency in 1989. Carol earned a Bachelor of Art’s from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. In 1980 Carol moved to west Calgary and was employed as the obstetrical social worker for the General Hospital. In 1984, she changed positions and became the program Coordinator at the Leaning Centre as well as taking on an adjunct professor position with the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary, a position she held until 1990. Carol worked in the field of adoption for more than 20 years providing counseling and assessment services. As the Founder of Adoption by Choice she worked tirelessly in providing counseling to expectant parents considering adoption. She has always enjoyed teaching and professional training in the area of adoption and has presented at a number of conferences nationally and internationally. In 1998, Carol was nominated as a YWCA Woman of Distinction in recognizing her contribution to quality adoption practice.
