Anneke Baker, MSW, RSW
Contracted Social Worker for Medicine Hat, Alberta and South Zone
I began working for Adoption By Choice in 2008. I am very passionate about facilitating adoptions and enjoy making connections to birth moms and adoptive families. I feel it is a privilege to work with birth moms and adoptive families through their adoption journey and appreciate that this can be exciting and a challenging time. My hope is to create comfort, answer questions and be a supportive person through the process. In my experience of facilitating open adoptions, I have found this process to be very therapeutic and the connections the birth mom and adoptive families make after adoption has been truly amazing.
Feel free to contact me and I would be happy to meet with you and offer you unbiased counselling options. I can be reached at (403) 928-5564.

Why should people come to Adoption By Choice?
Adoption By Choice is an amazing organization that truly comes from a client, child, and family centered approach. They are committed to ensuring that the process is therapeutic and provide support for both adoptive families and to birthmother for as long as it is needed which speaks to their dedication of wrapping around families in their journey toward adoption. ABC has an amazing team of educated, caring and supportive staff who all love the work that they do. Myself included!
Why you chose to work for Adoption By Choice?
I have always felt passionate about Adoption work and had facilitated several adoptions when I worked for Children Services. When I left, I felt a piece of me missing and contacted ABC through an ad they had in the Advocate. I met with Ramone and Laura and felt a connection right away! The organizations fit with my values of bringing permanency, safety and happiness to children and I particularly liked the openness of adoption which fit with my philosophy around building relationships and connection.
I found a great team to work with who are so very supportive, creative and genuine.
